The Beauty of Learning To Live In The Present

I have found freedom in learning to live in the present, for I have learnt to trust in the One who knows the beginning and the end. Through which, my soul blossomed in gratitude, for I learned to fix my eyes upon all things present that I am thankful for.

Oftentimes we naturally worry about the future, but there is a reason why we do not hold knowledge of all the things to come. For as human beings, we are extremely limited in our capacity to have control. Our precious souls were not created to be omniscient. Through which, as I decided to let go and trust the journey that the Lord has me on, I have felt my innermost being thrive with joy by embracing the beauty of the now.

When fear and anxiety may enter in, it is within those moments where we must lean deeper in trusting in our sovereign Lord. Remaining steadfast in confidence, that our lives are securely enwrapped within His unfailing love.

I have been worried and concerned about many things throughout my life. From finances, to loved ones, and even to wondering when my dreams of becoming a wife and a mother will come true. There are many situations that we face throughout life that may cause us to become paralysed with fear. But I have learnt to take my eyes off the circumstances, and onto the Lord. I have learnt to refrain from living in the future, and decided to rest in the blessing of today.By dwelling on the beautiful things that He has done, it gives me peace in my heart to know that He is forever faithful.

Surrendering The Future

Your heart may be filled with a magnitude of dreams that you wish to come true. And sometimes, throughout the process and the journey toward those dreams, it may not always happen in ways we anticipated. There can be times when glorious seasons of acceleration can take place within our lives, and then there are also those seasons where it may seem like a barren wilderness, causing your heart to become discouraged and deeply dismayed. But the Lord has promised you that He will always be with you. During the good times, as well as the bad times. I have learnt that everything on this earth is perishable, but the Lord Himself, is powerfully eternal. His love, everlasting. Even during those times when it may look like have nothing, always remember that with Jesus Christ, you have everything. The King of glory absolutely loves and adores you, He holds your times in the palm of His hands.

When you catch yourself becoming fearful and worried about the future, enter into prayer and release your precious heart to the Lord. Share with Him what’s troubling you, because He cares so passionately for you.

Daily, I have to surrender my future in His hands. Though it may seem scary and uncertain, I have come to the point in my life where I feel as though letting go, and letting God, is the best thing I could ever do.

No More Pressure

This may come as a surprise to many people, but I actually have come to refrain from having New Years resolutions or yearly goals that I would like to achieve. Many years ago, I found myself in that pattern of setting goals and keeping my focus totally fixated upon future achievements. Only then to be disappointed with the outcome if it never happened the way I expected. Then at the end of every year, I would notice a pattern, that I have spent my days entirely focused on the future, rather than embracing the beauty of the present every single day. I felt as thought those years my life was completely wasted. For barely did I ever stop to be still, admiring the present and dwelling on what I was thankful for. I was too busy trying to push toward my future goals, month after month, year after year.

In this season of my life, I am learning to live in the present by release any pressure that I may put on myself. And it has helped me to discover so much beauty around me, abundant with God’s loving grace.

Take any pressure off of your shoulders today, by leaving them with your Heavenly Father, knowing that He holds your beautiful future in His divine care.

Thankful For Today

Life is so much more beautiful when your heart is overflowing with genuine gratitude. I find that gratitude is something to be cultivated, not everyone finds it easy to remember to do. Being thankful is often done in those quiet moments of stillness, when you are able to reflect deeply on the wonderful amount of blessings that the Lord has given to you! Oftentimes, when we can be so busy and surrounded with lots of noise around us, it can be difficult to identify those simple, beautiful things that God has gifted to us. It can be the most basic things that we forget to be thankful for. Such as our health, our food, our shelter, our access to the internet, the clothing that we have to wear.

I have recently learned the beauty of gratitude because the Lord allowed me to be stripped of literally almost everything I have. And it is within that season where I learnt to truly be thankful for the little!

What are you thankful for?

Be Anxious For Nothing

Lastly, I would like to usher you into some beautiful encouragement to know that God is holding your future under His care and protection. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving make your requests known to God, and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-8).

There is never a moment, where your Heavenly Father isn’t with you. He is holding you, His hand is upon you. And your future in Christ is shining absolutely bright with His glory. Rest in Him beloved, and dwell on the beauty for today. Your times are kept perfectly in His care.
