The Gift of Motherhood

The gift of motherhood is not only a precious blessing, but it is a powerful calling that the Lord has beautifully orchestrated in the lives of many women. I myself, am not a mother yet. Although I do desire to be a mother with all of my heart once I get married someday. I desire to honour and encourage mothers in this post, as well as the ladies who desire to be mothers in the near future. For I believe that this beautiful calling is one of the most heartwarming and rewarding experience that a woman could possibly experience. Motherhood is not a burden, motherhood is a gift from heaven.

Motherhood is kingdom work. Your call as a mother does not only effect the present time, but it effects eternity. You are raising and nourishing your precious child not only physically, but spiritually, mentally and emotionally. The Lord has entrusted you, to nurture the soul of a human being. As mothers, it is our responsibility to raise children for the glory of God. We teach our children in the ways of the Lord, as well as setting a good example for them as their parent. Your beautiful position as a godly mother has the power to influence your family and descendants for generations. And whilst being a mother may sometimes be challenging, your labour of love will create a positive, lasting impact that your child will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” – Deuteronomy 6:6-7

The Lord is with you, every step of the way throughout your motherhood. He gives you the grace, to be fruitful in your call as a mother with excellence. Your Heavenly Father is exceedingly proud of you. For to be a christian mother, also requires us to embark on the glorious journey of blossoming to become more like our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Every day we ought to die to self and walk in total obedience to His call as mothers. For as we place the needs of our children before ourselves, He is thoroughly pleased.

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” – Philippians 2:3

The relationship that a child has with their mother, can greatly impact their development and relationships as they grow up. Through which as you speak words of life over your children, not only is it deeply valued by the heart of God, but these powerful words will also remain with your child throughout the course of their lives. Even beyond the time when you pass away, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren will carry a part of you within their hearts. Your prayers, your love, and your time will never be in vain. Your kingdom work as a mother is cherished dearly to the Lord. Generations will be wonderfully influenced due to your obedience to the Lord as a mother who is surrendered to Him.

Motherhood ministry is an absolute blessing. Whether through giving birth, adopting or step-parenting, your life and labour of love will be remembered throughout generations. And most importantly, greatly honoured in the sight of the Lord.

May you and your family be exceedingly blessed,

May your children prosper fruitfully in the ways of the Lord,

May the Lord give you increase, more and more, you and your children. (Psalm 115:14)

May you and your beloved family walk in the fullness of His joy, all the days of your life.

Lots of love,

Devona Fayana

This is beautiful. I too, desire to become a mother after I marry. This is a beautiful way to also see everything God has planned for our lives.
