The Honest Truth About Letting Go Of Your Past

Nobody’s life is perfect and nobody themselves are perfect, we all make mistakes and that’s okay.

You don’t actually know yourself as much as you think you do, the only person that knows you better than you know yourself is God, your creator. He knows and understands us, our past, present and future. Yet He still loves us, even during those times you may have rejected Him. It’s not our past that defines us, it is the thoughts of the living God that defines us. And He has a lot to say about you!

Isaiah 43:4

You are precious and honoured in my sight

Jeremiah 29:11

I have plans for you to prosper. For good and not for evil. For a future and a hope

Isaiah 49:16

I have inscribed you on the palm of my hands

Psalm 139:17

How precious are your thoughts to me God, how vast are the sum of them. If I were to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand!

The list of scriptures of God’s word about His love for you is endless! It does not matter what your background is or where you came from or even how bad your past was. God loves you, and He desires for you to come to Him and enter His rest. Pursuing a relationship with Him.

Jesus, who is the son of God, died on the cross for your sins in order for you to have eternal life and a closer relationship with God. The actual truth is that Jesus is the only way to the Father. Through HIM, your sins and your past has been completely washed away.

God does not use your past as a weapon against you to feel worthless, He is a forgiving, loving Father  who is ready to take you to the next level and make your future full and of joy. Through Christ, you are made new and whole. You can come boldly to Him, accept Him as your saviour and Lord. He will give you the rest that you so long for.

As always, things may not be perfect. But the Lord will always be with you to hold and guide you through life. On the way to a beautiful, eternal life.

Keep pressing on and look to Him xx
